 Dragons 2

With a loss to the Rangers, who are on a winning streak, The Aardwolfs needed to win a game to raise their spirits. The Dragons always put on a challenge and it was all about that this week with both teams needing to win. The Aardwolfs score first with an awesome goal from Hamish on his own, the Dragons had not answer and go into the second period scoreless. The Dragons then come back to score two and take the lead 2-1.But the Aardwolfs were not giving up yet and in the third period even the score with Tim our new guy passing off to Hamish who gets his second of the night. The game was on with both teams going for it but it was the Aardwolfs who score next with awesome passing from Kushla off to Hamish, who passed to Tim and with a beautiful back hand shot scored the wining goal. The Aardwolfs take the win 3-2. Great game guys and girls.                                                                                                Reported by Kushla Proffitt

 River Rats 1

Well what a game we had this week. A very fast game and physical game by the Rats. We snapped up a great goal by Matt with a nice upper left hand corner, sending it home, with the assist by Nick. The first great goal of many more to come, we hope. Then it didn't take long to get the second goal, what a great goal at that. A shot by Tim deflected up into the air in front of the goal and Nick was in the right place to hit it in the net from mid air. Think this should take the trophy this year. With long shifts without whistles, it kept the game flowing and changing up was on the fly with short shifts keeping the pace on. But when the whistle went, it ended up with a 1 to 4 ratio of penalties. Aardwolfs Fire had four Penalties, making it a rough game. In the last period Brendan make some great saves against some of the top overseas players in the game. With the second to last penalty in the game, in the remaining minutes, it gave the team a power play and was great to watch the Aardwolfs run rings around the other team.

 Rangers 11

In a game that was to be one to forget, the Rangers came out strongly scoring 4 goals in the first period to Aardwolfs Ice’s 1. The second period was much the same with 5 to the Rangers and one to the Wolf’s. Aardwolfs Ice had settled down by the third and managed to hold the Rangers to 2-1 for the period, Final score 11-3 to the Rangers, the game was summed up when someone said” everything we touched went to them and everything they touched went in” On a positive note it was good to see Jasper playing his first game for the Aardwolfs and scoring 2 of the 3 goals.  Silver Dragons 4

With the Silver Dragons being one of the top teams, this was always going to be a tough game. The Aardwolfs start well with two quick goals, both Karyn and Ricky making it count. But the Dragons soon tied up the game to go 2-2 into the second. With the Dragons on a roll, a short-handed goal saw them take the lead 3-2 with no answer from the Aardwolfs except penalties. The third saw the Aardwolfs pour on the shots, (a total of 38 for the game) but they just could not find the back of the net. The Dragons increase their lead with another goal, but the Aardwolfs had not given up yet and score in the last few minutes of the game. It was all on with the Aardwolfs looking for a draw, the Dragons throwing everything at the Aardwolfs only to end up in the box. The Aardwolfs had shot after shot but to no avail. The Aardwolfs going down to the Dragons   4-3, wow what a game-intense.                                                                   Reported by Kushla Proffitt
