Games Report B

Score:

Aardwolfs 0

 Rangers 3

After last weeks show down, the Aardwolfs were looking to increase their lead in the B grade but this was not their game. The Rangers having had some practises over the Christmas break, bet the Dragons last week and were on a roll. The game was messy from the start and both teams remained scoreless going into the second. Then the Rangers score their first goal, surprising all . They continued their onslaught with lots of shots on, leaving the Aardwolfs unable to answer. The third period saw the Rangers with more shots while the Aardwolfs were lucky to even make the net. The Rangers score two more to take the win 3-0, the Aardwolfs, although having a great game individually, just could not get it together as a team. Better luck next guys and girls.                                                                                         Reported by Kushla Proffitt

Wow! For some reason everything clicked on the night. Starting of with Tim scoring the first goal and Blake getting three points in the first period. With some great saves from Brendan to keep us in the game and the collection of the rebounds by the defence, to clear the puck kept the score at the end of the period to 5-0 to us. Not to mention Brads attempt to stay on side for an offside call by jumping over the blue line at a great height. In the second period the Aardwolfs Ice Team came back with two quick goals make the score line closer. But a few penalties by both teams give us some great power plays with lots of talking (keep that up guys) and some great shooting but alas Vince only conceded one goal. We were also down a player for 10mins for the little chat to the referee about the penalty. (remember no contesting the penalties).
Back in the third period we hit the back of the goal net again. Especially would not hear the end of it with a three on none, if they did not score on it. But you guys did so great job Matt and Nick and Blake. Over all Blake got a hat trick and four points, Nick got a total of five points including two goals as well. Tim and Matt also go two goals. Thanks to Blake for bringing a casual player down and helping the Aardwolfs Fire team out this week.                                                                                               Reported by Glen Cameron

Games Report A Thunder

Score:

Thunder 5

 Lightning 9

With Aardwolfs Lightning having help from the B team in the form of Craig and Aardwolfs Thunder short several of their regular players with  Darryl and Andrea filling in, it was always going to be an interesting game. Aardwolfs Lightning playing in Blue, had Keith open the scoring with his first of three for the night, the second was Joern’s, also his first of three.
Lightning spent most of the 2nd period with one in the box. Aaron was thinking about changing shirts because the Referees certainly had his existing number with several marginal calls putting him in the bin. Gerry managed to slam one home from the point. Then with Thunder playing catch up hockey, Ricky scored an excellent goal from the drop for Thunder, bringing them within one goal of Lightning. They never quite caught up, the Game going Aardwolfs Lightning’s way in last period. In the tally of Aardwolfs A Grade games against each other the balance still tips in favour of Aardwolfs Thunder, however this one went the way of Aardwolfs Lightning. Till next time.                                                             Reported by Clive Murphie
