Games Report B Semi

Score:

Aardwolfs 2

Phantoms 0

The last game before semi finals saw the top three very close points and all relied on these two games to see who would play who next week in the semi finals. In the first game Aardwolfs controlled the game from the start scoring their first goal from Coil in the first minute of the game. Hamish makes it two soon after ending the period 2-0 with the Phantoms not able to keep up. The second period saw the game chance as the Phantoms play a defensive game and both teams  struggle in the neutral zone. With both teams spending time in the bin, the game remained the same till the end. With no more goals scored, the Aardwolfs take the win 2-0 and remain in first place. Roll on semi finals next week.             Reported by Kushla Proffitt.

Games Report A Thunder Semi

Score:

Thunder 6

Lightning 1

The end of the round is always another game against each other and both Aardwolfs teams were up to the challenge. With the two Dragons teams having played before us and the semi positions set, it didn't really matter who won so the game was on. With Thunder in blue, they were out to prove that they were in fact lucky and so they did. Thunder controlled the game with Nathan scoring early on, but Lightning answer quickly. Then Andrew, once again on a shooting spree, scores two more with a little help from Andy to go
3-1 into the second.
The game was on but Lightning just could not find the net, Thunder had no problem with the team working like a well oiled machine. Two more goals this time from the defence, saw Thunder increase their lead to 5-1 going into the third. Lightning struggled on only to end up in the bin and Thunder managed one more to take the win 6-1. Semi Finals next week, lets hope we have a goalie???                      Reported by Kushla Proffitt
