Aardwolfs 6

 Phantoms 7

The Phantoms at the bottom of the table were always going to have a tough game against the Aardwolfs but not tonight. The Aardwolfs thought this would be a win for sure but were in for a surprise. The Phantoms score first with the Aardwolfs only managing a penalty. Then Karyn and Hamish do the magic passing thing and tie up but the Phantoms were on a roll scoring two more to go 3-1 up into the second. The Phantoms score again increasing their lead leaving the Aardwolfs in shock and in need to sort it out. Then after an increase of shots on, Hamish gets one in as the Aardwolfs wake up. But the Phantoms were not giving up that easily and score two more, leaving the Aardwolfs only able to score one. The third period saw the Aardwolfs make a come back and score two goals including one from Al fresh back from Canada. (Look out he's getting quick). Then the Phantoms get one more taking the win out of the Aardwolfs reach, one goal was just not enough to tie the game and the Phantoms take the win 7-6.            Reported by Kushla Proffitt

Another exciting game! Starting off with a great save by Brendan, and with us still warming up, we finally got there in the end. When we got it back to the defence, Phil had a great shot from the point nearly getting it in. Bugger. Some time later we managed to get it out of our end to Nick, who manages to get around the White Dragons defence and with a sweet deke, backhanded it into the net. Great work Nick!). Later Tim picks the puck up from behind our net and with the forward a little pressured from White Dragons, skates it up the ice but loses the puck in the neutral zone. Here, by some skill and luck, picks it up again and puts it in the back of the net to make it 2-1 to Aardwolfs Fire. Some great passing in the attacking zone places another goal on the board, Ross to Matt and Nick scores. (Great job guys!). With Jeremy helping out on the night, his skating and high jumping skills came in handy when he had to jump over Nick's Stick to avoid the offside for the team. The score was tied at 3-3 at the end of the first.
With the teams hard skating and keeping out of trouble, we kept the Penalty Minutes down and the White Dragons at bay and increased our lead in the second period with Matt scoring and Nick the Assist. With the White Dragons defence a little hard to score in close, we then started to send the puck out to the points and  scoring again with a great shot from Phil and  a great pass from Brad, ending the second 5-3 to Aardwolfs Fire. The third started with a rush but slowed down a little, tighter plays by both teams made it hard to get to the net. But alas the White Dragons did in the middle of the third bugger it. Aardwolfs Fire had a great opportunity late in the game with all the messy play in front of the net, then opening up and Nick coming out clean with the puck and no one around except the goalie in the net. He shoots but gets the goalies catcher (Shit), must say it was a great save!
Well done Aardwolfs Fire for the last game of this round.                            Reported by Glen Cameron.

Score:

Aardwolfs won

 Silver Dragons (Defaulted)

In a Win to Aardwolfs Ice that will go down as 3/0 due to the defaulting by the Silver Dragons
(they intentionally played too many Contact Players) the Aardwolfs conceded multiple goals, The Second Period was reasonably even with a score line of  2-1 to the Dragons. Let's hope the Rats next week get their act together. Congratulations to Aardwolfs Fire who finished the round at the top of the competition.

 Phantoms 2

With a few loses under their belt, Aardwolfs Thunder were hoping to change their luck this week. The first to score with Nathan on o breakaway, the Aardwolfs pouring on the shots. The Phantoms on answer was with penalties, as they struggled to keep with the Aardwolfs who poured on the pressure, the Phantoms goalie getting big work-out with a total of 50 shots on him for the game by the Aardwolfs. But the end of the second saw the Phantoms land two quick goals and take the lead 2-1.
The Aardwolfs came smoking in the third with Nathan once a gain own his own finding the back of the net. Then Phil makes it three with an awesome breakaway to re-take the lead 3-2  to the Aardwolfs. On a roll, they continued to attack the Phantoms end and then Ricky gives Nathan an awesome pass who scores his hat trick. The Phantoms defend as best they could but could not hold back the Aardwolfs who score again with Nathan getting a forth for the night and once again assisted by Ricky. A well deserved win to the Aardwolfs 5-2, who dominated the game.                                                   Reported by Kushla Proffitt
