It was to be a battle for the number one spot. With five players down this was always going to be a tough, long fight. The Silver Dragons show dominance taking the first period 5-0 but after the team settled down and found its form they were over the Silver Dragons. Keith lead charge and picking up a goal and an assist, unfortunately he also picked up a hat trick in penalties. The second and third period was all one way traffic with the team showing how a real team plays and that this year they will take the title. Reported by 'Big Al"

The last game of the round and the Aardwolfs were looking for their first win. They came out fighting, the Phantoms unable to answer. With the passing magic of last season returning, the Aardwolfs score three goals in the first. They continued to control the game in the second and score a fourth goal, but the Phantoms attempt a come back putting themselves on the board with a goal of their own. The Aardwolfs only adding to their lead with one more. Period three saw the Phantoms continue their catch-up with two more goals. But it was too little too late and with one last goal, the Aardwolfs win their first game of the season    6-3. What an awesome game with 37 shots on! Against the River Rats is always intense and this one was no exception, but the Aardwolfs were up to the  challenge. With penalties coming in the first few minutes from the River Rats, the game was going to be ugly. The Rats score first up and make it two on the second period with the Aardwolfs unable to answer. But that all changed in the second period when after some awesome passing, Cameron scores from Blake and the Aardwolfs are on the board. The River Rats did not like this and through everything at them in attempt to stop the Aardwolfs playing catch-up. When Nick makes it two for the Aardwolfs,  the River Rats increased the intensity, the penalties pouring out. But in the end the River Rats kept their lead and win 3-2.
