With the Premier team a little short in numbers
for their first game, Glen and Clive stepped up to help them out. The game
itself was really fast, too fast for some with Glen throwing up his dinner,
poor thing he was not expecting to play. The Ranger came out strong and
scored four goals in the first period, the Aardwolfs only able to answer tow
of them thanks to Phil and his awesome shooting.
Period two saw the Aardwolfs gain on their opponents with two more goals,
one with Nik on his own and the other from Greg as new player for the
Aardwolfs from a nice pass off Brad tying the game up 4-4 all. Then the
Rangers score one more going into the third period 5-4 up.
The Aardwolfs tie up the game again with Nik and Phil making the play to the
net, then game was on and as quick as ever, with both teams fighting for
possession. A few minutes later the Aardwolfs score again with Greg making
it two for the game after some great defensive work by Glen and Chris. A few
penalties called for both sides showed the pressure was getting to the
players but the Aardwolfs held on to take the win 6-5. Great game to watch
guys, best I've seen in a while.

|
First game of the season and Thunder was a
little short in numbers, thanks to Dave, Frank and Martin for filling in for
us. The game itself started strong and even though the Silver Dragons scored
first up, the Aardwolfs answered quickly with four goals of their own to go
4-1 into the second period. The Aardwolfs continued to pour on the pressure
and took control of the game, with lots of shots on. They scored two more
goals and increased their lead 6-1 going into the third, the Dragons just
not able to stop the momentum of the Aardwolfs. The last period saw Phil get
his hat trick and the team working the passing well, then Brad our new
player, went down and popped his shoulder (OUCH). An Ambulance was called
and with Brad made as comfortable as possible, the team carried on, wining
the game 10-1.

Game one of a new season and the Aardwolfs start
in style, with a goal from their captain in the first four minutes of the
game to take the lead early on. The Rangers unable to answer, continued to
struggle in the second with the Aardwolfs scoring again on a power play,
nice pass from Colin to Hamish.
The Rangers then shake off their first game blues and come back to tie up
the game two all going into the third period. The fight was on with the
Aardwolfs gaining the control of the puck and pouring the shots on.
The Rangers couldn't shut them down and in the end the great team work of
Tim, Craig and Hamish scored goal number three and won the game. Great start
to the season team-awesome.
BIG welcome to the new Aardwolfs B Grade players, they are Katie, Kim and
Phil, hope you enjoyed your first game, the team all thought you played
well. See you all next game :)
