Aardwolfs 8

White Dragons 6

Last game of the round for Premier and the Aardwolfs were on a roll and controlled the game from the start. They poured on the shots and gained four unanswered goals in the first thanks to Greg, Adam and Glen.
But the Dragons came back in the second to scoring two of their own and the game was on. The Aardwolfs matched their two goals with Tim on his own in a power play and and nice pass from Glen saw Adam get another. The Dragons came out fighting in the third scoring three goals early on, closing the gape. But the  Aardwolfs fought hard and score increasing their lead to 7-5.
The Dragons answer quickly with another goal but it was not enough to catch the Aardwolfs  who score one more and take the win 8-6.                                                                             Reported by Kushla Proffitt

With the South Island Master's having been all weekend and many people involved, Sunday night's hockey was very low key. Glen having reffed all weekend and Phil having played plus other injuries to boot, the Aardwolfs played tow ring-in's and a casual player to make up the numbers and the energy lacking from some. This proved to be a winning combo as the casual player put the Aardwolfs straight on the board within the first ten minutes, after some awesome passing from Chris and Andrew. Number two for the Aardwolfs came shortly after with Andrew going it alone to go 2-0 up into the second.
The game continued to be controlled by the Aardwolfs with the team gelling well and the passes connecting. Five goals scored by Daniel, Phil, Chris and the casual, saw the Aardwolfs increase their lead 7-0 up with the Phantoms unable to catch them.
The third period saw the Aardwolfs gain double figures with three more goals, taking the win 10-0. It would have been 11-0 had Ted managed to keep his blade in his stick as he took a shot at net hehe. This fine performance has earned him a nomination for "Mug of the Year".         Reported by Kushla - Team Manager

With three players down and a few still recovering from the South Island Master's , the Aardwolfs were only a ten of Ten and our goalie of course. They knew they had to come out strong at the start while all had the strength to do so and strong they did. The magic duo of Hamish and Tim worked together and scored in the first few minutes, then Craig on his own, made it two shortly after. A third goal from Craig off a shot at net by Kushla on a power play, saw the Aardwolfs go 3-0 up into the second.
The Phantoms came back with a goal of their own and the game was on. Tim and Hamish worked their magic and scored again but the Phantoms answered quickly with another making it 4-2.
The Aardwolfs controlled the game in the third and poured the shots on poor Emily, who's trying goalie out for the season (good for you). A fifth goal from the magic duo and then another with a little help from Katie saw the Aardwolfs take the win 6-3.                                                          Reported by Kushla Manager/Player
