After a narrow win over the Rangers last week,
the Aardwolfs Premier team were determined to continue the trend and came
out fighting. They dominated the game right from the start with 22 shots on
just in the first period. Greg, the Aardwolfs new player, continued to
impress taking the first two goals of the game and then Phil gets number
three to 3-0 up into the second. The Dragons had no answer but frustration
which only put them in the penalty box. Period two saw the onslaught continue for the Aardwolfs with four more goals including Greg's hat trick. The team really worked well together with lots of shots on (a total of 49 for the game), and great passing and support. The third saw the Aardwolfs put the nail in the coffin, with three more to seal the deal, and although the Dragons came back to score two right at the end, they never had a chance. After a few players letting the side down with
no-shows and last minute cancels, Thunder manages to pick up a casual and
some ring-in minutes before the game, with another Dragons team to play, we
needed all we could get. The game itself was very even, with both teams
having lots of shots on. Glen puts Aardwolfs Thunder on the board in the
first minute of the game with a back handed side-step shot and the game was
on. Number two for Thunder came shortly after with Andrew passing off to
Phil who shoots and scores. The game gets intense as the Dragons make the
score board with their first goal. But the Aardwolfs were determined and
with one of the ring-ins in tow, Craig scores number three. The Dragons
answer to end the period 3-2 up to the Aardwolfs going into the second. The Dragons score again early to tie the game up 3-3 and that's how it stayed till the third. The usual tension followed with both teams having a sit in the penalty box, but it was the Dragons who scored next to take the lead early on. But the determined Thunder team never gave up and tied the game 4-4 in the last six minutes. Both teams continued to pour on the pressure but neither could break the tie and that's how it ended 4-4. Awesome game, nice and even right down to the shots on 26 a piece. Reported by Kush-Team Manager |

The Dragons are always a challenge to play and
the Aardwolfs first game against them was no different than the norm. The
Dragons poured on the shots in the first and score at the end of the period,
going 1-0 up into the second. The Aardwolfs were left fumbling and barely
saw the net, and with the second period goalless, the Aardwolfs had their
work cut out for them. By the third period, after the Aardwolfs captain had given the team a rark up, he then went out and showed them what he meant and scored the teams first goal to tie the game 1-1 with only five minutes left on the clock. Less than a minute later, Tim gave Hamish an awesome pass which he used well and took the Aardwolfs into the lead, the Dragons were stunned. Then just when you thought the game was over, Tim and Hamish do it again and increase the lead to 3-1. The Dragons, still in shock could only manage to answer one goal before the final whistle. The winners on the night were the Aardwolfs by a whisker. Awesome come back guys and girls. Reported by Kush-Team Manager/Player |
