All go at the Fairlie Skating Rink
Great times and freezing nights at the good old Fairlie Ice Skating Rink, feature in the memory of many a person who have over the years celebrated the winter, skating away to the music hits of yesteryear.
And now having had the coldest June in 50 years, the proof being 9 inches of ice, the Fairlie Ice Skating Rink is again the place to be.
There is plenty of entertainment to be had.
So if you live here or just passing through come and enjoy good old fashioned family fun at its best, at the Fairlie Ice Skating Rink. And just a thought and thank you to the people who make this possible!

Ice Skating
From Fairlie 1866 to 2000

The Fairlie Ice Skating Club was founded in 1951 and members embarked on the task of improving facilities at the ice rink which had been established three years previously.
In 1952 the Club bought equipment including hockey sticks and a music system and set charges for juniors at sixpence, for 13 to 15 year olds at one shilling and for over fifteen year olds at two shillings. Adults could hire skates for one shilling, children for sixpence. By 1956 ice hockey had a strong following, white was adopted as the Club's colour and ice permitting, weekly games were played.
The Club purchased an ex school building for use as the clubhouse in 1984, more boots were bought to hire out and the rink was fenced.?
