| This Weeks News: So: lots has been happening, another round of the NZIHL, the Auckland University Team has been and gone. The dates for the Southern Migration are down to either the 11th-14th of August or the 18th - 21st. This will be confirmed in next week’s newsletter, cost this year is $265 for Accommodation, Transport and Ice Time. We will be playing at the new Tekapo Rink, Queenstown and Dunedin. Hopefully we have enough players for 2 games in Queenstown and Dunedin. Deposits will be $135 to secure a seat and $130 about August the 1st. Here’s the pre NZIHL game press report for the Canterbury Red Devils authored by own Craig Armstrong-Fray. Results were: Game 1; Swarm 3 Stampede 2, Game 2; Devils 8 Stampede 2, Game 3; Devils 3: Swarm 3. I would recommend buying tickets for the next round in Chch early as the Devils games are picked to sell out. - We have had a tentative approach from the Beasts a Dunedin Team who would like to come to Chch and play us. Probably late July early August timing. Level of play will be Mid A SNC down to mid B. We will probably also be playing them in Dunedin on the Southern Migration.
- Our thanks to the Auckland University Team who played a mixed Aardwolfs Team on Friday night, the Aardwolfs won 10-0 in a very good natured game, unfortunately we were overpowered expecting a similar strength team to the Uni’s last trip. We will get it right for their next trip, the Auckland Uni Team travel south from here to play in Dunedin, Gore and Queenstown. We presented an Aardwolfs Polo shirt to Sara Ward for her work in organising the trip. A special thanks to Scotty who filled in a goalie at the last moment replacing an injured Aucklander.
