Information: | Lake Evelyn is a popular fishing spot in Summer, in winter the northern end of the lake stays permanently in the shadow which freezes in the right conditions, the easy access from the road makes this a popular Ice skating spot in season. Close to the hill skating between the rocks and tussocks can be fun. This can be a good place to skate if everywhere else has lots of snow on it, Evelyn seems to melt and refreeze earlier than most other local Lakes, so tends to have a better surface if frozen. |
